Getting mature

It's been about a year since I moved in with S. at a small appartment. Before that I had never lived anywhere else except my parents' house. I learned a lot about housekeeping, paying the bills on time and with my own money, shopping food (for two and not for a horde of basketball players) and cooking (and also cleaning pots that have grown stuff inside). Everything that's in our small home we have bought with our own money (no gifts etc) and it is of a nice quality. All this is amazing for us considering we live on a medium salary (a medium salary is when you add my small salary and S.'s slender income as an intern lawyer).
After all this I'm proud. We tried something hard and we made it. And the feeling is great.

Babies, happiness and more

In the last few days a lot has happened. My fiance is going to baptize a baby, a friend of ours is pregnant and today my future brother-in-law and his wife gave birth to an amazing son. Happy news and more happy news and I'm in seventh heaven. I really love kids, you know, and think nothing brings more happiness and meaning in anyone's life than a baby. They're soft and cute and great, with all their little members and fingers and toes and make you so hopeful 'cause every day they're growing. When you have children no day is like the previous one, you keep looking at the future. Children themselves are the future. You run and sweat for them to have the best, learn to make sacrifices of your personal time, your money, your courage and patience...
Today when I looked at my newborn nephew I shed a tear of happiness. Or I hope so. Something inside me hopes it was happiness and not hopelessness...
